The Untitled Chapters team is proud to say that the 1st meet up for the members of our community for the year in the 31st of January 2012 was a success!

There were several items that had been discussed with the members who have attended; we were thrilled to see Afra and  Amna Al-Falasi again who joined in pervious meetings and were just as excited as we were. We also were happy to meet one of our youngest Members Shamma Kabital for the first time after she submitted her first piece with us earlier this month.

The following was covered in month’s meeting

• Brief discussion on the VIVA Magazine feature

• Emirates Diaries Magazine: Our very own Maryam Al Mansoori is one of the founders of a this great initiative of a newly established magazine founded, written and photographed by young ambitious Emiraties that come from different backgrounds!  The Magazine does need some writers and the members of Untitled Chapters were more than thrilled to become a part of this great new initiative.

• Afra recited several of her spoken word poems which blew us away. Amna shared with a very inspirational piece which she is submitting to Dubai Women’s College Magazine which the other members related to very well and Shamma read a short story which had excellent descriptions which can not only be a stand alone as a short story but has potential to become something more. Fatma has read a summary to the submission that she sent to the Writing for Teens workshop that will be conducted in AD in March. This aspect in the meetings has been very enjoyable and will be carried out in future meetings

• Of course, a few events were discussed but the team feels like keeping those secret for the time being XD The events will be announced shortly after they are planned

We would like to thank everyone who has attended the meeting and to those who showed their interest through twitter, as mentioned above there will be plenty of meetings and events that you can attend in the future. We are hyped up for what is to come!

Next meeting is scheduled to be on the 22rd of Feb 2012 Venue will be decided one week prior to the meeting date
