Goethe-Institut 2014: A Four Day Writing Workshop

The Untitled Chapters team is thrilled to announce that the Institute is organizing another 4 day workshop in Abu Sharjah .The objective of this session is to foster the development of Emirati children’s literature in Arabic, the UAE
Board on Books for Young People (UAEBBY) and the Goethe-Institut Gulf Region
continue their “Books – Made in UAE” project and organize a workshop for ten
Emirati children’s book authors.

The workshop will be conducted by Anja Tuckermann, one of Germany’s best-known children’s and young adults’ book authors

For four days, participants will be given the opportunity to work with Anja Tuckermann on their story lines and book projects, discuss problems and challenges of writing for children and exchange ideas in a friendly and supportive environment.

When?

The workshop will take place all day from Sunday, 27 to 30 April 2014 in Sharjah (Venue to be confirmed)

Participation is free but places are limited and priority will be given to those authors already working on a book project. Admittance will be based on the submission of a short synopsis of the book project. Costs for three nights of single accommodation in Sharjah can be arranged and will be covered.

How to Register?

If you are a writer of children’s books working on a book project that you like to discuss in the workshop, please sent an e-mail with some information about yourself as well as a short synopsis of your work (not longer than 1-2 A4 pages, preferably in English, Arabic is of course welcome as well) to:
