We are delighted to host a brand new writer with us today, welcome Salma O. Bin Faqqas and her debut poem “Let it go”
You are sad, and sadness doesn’t always need a logical cause.
It just haunts us with its scary, spine chilling, bloodcurdling claws.
You’re sad because the human’s condition is deteriorating.
You’re sad because the water is contaminating.
You’re sad because people are departing.
You’re sad because you’re a human.
You’re sad because you never got the chance to spread your wings and fly.
You’re sad because you cannot help the people passing by.
You’re sad because you’re a human.
You’re sad because you never fought for the love and rain.
You’re sad because since you never did, millions of youth’s dreams will just drain.
You’re sad because you’re a human.
You’re sad because your wishes upon a star never touched the moon.
You’re sad because you believe the world will not become a better place any time soon.
You’re sad because you’re a human.
You’re sad because you lived with no glimpse of hope.
That maybe one day, people will break free, by cutting the rope.
The rope holding them back from shouting for their right.
The rope preventing them from accepting the fight.
You’re sad because you’re a human.
What you feel, my friend, I call humanity.
something so rare, nowadays, it is confused with insanity.
To be happy?
You’ll have to let it go.
The world changing?
That is indeed, to be, one funny show.
