Remember the 4 day creative writing for writing books for teens workshop that took place last year by the Goethe-Institut ?
The Untitled Chapters team is thrilled to announce that the Institute is organizing another 4 day workshop in Abu Dhabi. This year the title of the workshops will be “MADE IN UAE – Fantastic Wor(l)ds” which will focus on developing Emirati writers who wish to write Young Adult novels of the fantasy/dystopian/sci-fi genre.
The workshop will be conducted (in English) by one of Germany’s best-known young adult novel authors, Rainer Wekwerth
For four days, participants will be given the opportunity to work with Rainer Wekwerth on their book projects, discuss problems and challenges of writing for teenagers and exchange ideas in a friendly and supportive environment. Meetings with publishers and the target audience as well as a panel discussion with Rainer Wekwerth at the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair 2013 will complete the workshop.
When?
The workshop will take place all day from Sunday, 28 April till Thursday till 1 May 2013 in Abu Dhabi (venue location t.b.c.).
Participation is free, but places are limited and priority will be given to those authors already working on a book project. Allocation of the places will be based on the submission of a short synopsis of the book project.
How to Register?
If you are a writer of YA fantasy/dystopian/sci-fi novels working on a book project that you like to discuss in the workshop, you will need to send an e-mail with some information about yourself as well as a short synopsis of your work (not longer than 1-2 A4 pages, preferably in English, but Arabic is of course welcome as well) to Bettina Quabius, whose contact details can be found in the brochure
